Frontier Services Community Care Mutitjulu
Mutitjulu has a Community Care Centre located within the community.
Under the National Respite for Carers Program (NRCP), day respite and overnight respite is offered.
The service aims to provide carers of people with disabilities or who are frail aged, to have a break where the care recipient is able to stay on community.
Accessibility
This respite is funded for carers living at Mutitjulu community or carers from Docker River living in Mutitjulu for a period. The care recipient must have an identified carer. The identified carer does not have to be on a carer's pension or payment, but must provide an amount of care to the care recipient which makes their life easier.
Day Respite
The aged care facility opens at 7:30am and closes mid afternoon.
The aged care facility can pick up and drop off care recipients.
Breakfast and lunch is provided.
Activities take place during the day.
Some activities include:
- Painting
- RaffiaWork - basket making
- PunuWork - wood carving
- Wii- this has worked well and provides physical activity to some carerecipients
- BushDay Spa - hair dying, manicures and nail polish
- TV
- Music
- Photographyand scrapbooking.
The facility provides a safe and quiet place for people to rest.
Individual programs can be tailored for one on one support.
Staff can help with medications with permission from the carer and clinic. The facility works very closely with Mutitjulu clinic.
Overnight Respite
The facility can provide emergency and short term overnight respite.
The care recipient has a safe and quiet place for respite on community.
Community Care Mutitjulu also provides HACC and CACP services to the community.
