Disability Advocacy
Disability Advocacy provides an advocacy service for people with a disability. The service is community based and is able to provide information to people with disabilities to help them to get to know their rights. Disability Advocacy Service can also refer to other relevant services for support. Disability Advocacy Service is located next to Video 2000 on Railway Terrace and can be phoned on 08 8953 1422.
Aged Care Advocacy Service
Aged Care Advocacy works to encourage the rights of elderly residents of nursing homes and hostels. Aged Care Advocacy also provide a service to people who have been assessed and are waiting to move into residential homes. Covers Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and some remote areas.
Aged Care Advocacy also run a Mental Health Family Coping Program for remote communities.

Disability Liaison Service
Disability Liaison Service provides assistance, support and information to persons of all ages and disabilities, and their families.This service also administers the Subsidised Taxi Assistance Scheme. Disability Liaison Service is located in Eurilpa House in the Todd Mall in Alice Springs.
Bindi
Bindi is a nonprofit, cross cultural service that can offer employment, adult training, support services and education to people with disabilities in the Alice Springs region.
Disability Coordination - Disability Support Unit
The Disability Coordination team works in partnership with people with disabilities and their families, guardians,carers and communities to identify their needs, determine their preferred services and control their required resources to the extent they desire so that they can pursue their chosen lifestyle. Funding provided is in the form of an Individual Service Plan.
Seating Equipment and Technology (SEAT)
The SEAT Clinic provides information and wheelchair assessment service for NT residents and an additional customized technical seating service for people who qualify through the Territory Independence and Mobility Equipment Scheme (TIMES). SEAT Clinic is based at the Alice Springs Hospital.

We assist children and young people, people living with a disability, people living with a mental health issue and other vulnerable persons to live safer and more enriched lives.

Central Australia Supported Accommodation (CASA)
C.A.S.A Central Australia provides a range of living options for people with an intellectual disability. We offer a variety of transitional living options, short term respite placements, training and development within areas specific to client needs and a variety of permanent and independent supported accommodation options for people with an intellectual disability. Our staff are highly trained in all aspects of the profession and regularly attend staff development training both internally and externally.
Lifestyle Solutions Disability Support Services
Lifestyle Solutions is funded by the N.T. Department of Health and Families to provide accommodation support services for 30 Aboriginal people who have intellectual disabilities and complex needs. The model of support for this service is Group Home, Drop In Support and In Home Accommodation support which is fundamentally focused on enhancing the overall quality of life of these people being supported through Lifestyle Solutions Person Centered approach to individual planning.

Disability Operations and Brokerage
This program helps the aged and people with a disability to live on their communities with the best possible level of care and services. Waltja staff work closely with members of the Remote Areas Disability Brokerage Committee, which comprises representatives from the Western and Central Desert communities that Waltja services.
During the year Waltja's Disability and Aged Care staff visits communities in Waltja's service area to profile the needs of people with a disability and their carers. Referrals, information and support are provided to help people in remote communities live as well as they can. The Remote Areas Disability Brokerage Committee also considers requests for support for minor services or equipment when this is not available from other sources.
Disability Coordination Officer Program
The aim of the program is to address the inequity in the participation rate of people with a disability in post secondary education, training and employment.
The Disability Coordination Officer Program supports both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Alice Springs and across all Central Australian communities.
Fred McKay Day Centre
Fred McKay Day Centre is based at Old Timers. Referral must come through a GP. Respite can be arranged through the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre for carers where the care recipient is willing to attend the Fred McKay Day Centre.
Daycare Services
Care for child under school age can be arranged through the Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centre for children with a disability. A variety of child care centres are used in Alice Springs and Tennant Creek.
Vacation Care programs can be utilised during the school holidays for children up to the age of 12 such as Alice Springs Family Day Care, Lil Antz or YMCA.
GuideDogs NT
Guide Dogs NT provide orientation and mobility training for adults and children who are blind or vision impaired. They can provide specialist assessment and mobility services for people with vision loss due to brain injury or stroke. They provide education and training for people with low vision and advice and training with assistive technology and mobility devices. Guide Dogs NT also do consultancy education and support to family, community and government about vision loss.
