Alzheimer's Australia works in partnership with people living with dementia, their families and those working in the dementia care field. Support services include Dementia Helpline (1800 639 331), Carer Social Groups, Free Face to Face Counseling, Family Carer Education and Professional Training.

Positive Behavior Service Unit (PBSU)

PBSU can provide assistance to empower people with challenging behavior to communicate more effectively and to enhance capacity of families, communities and service providers to care and support people with challenging behavior.

Northern Territory Dementia Behavioral Management Advisory Service (NTDBMAS)

The role of NTDBMAS is to improve the quality of life of people with dementia, and their carers, where the behavior of the person with dementia impacts on their care. This will be achieved by improving the capacity of care workers, carers and service providers.

The team can provide:

  • Clinicalsupport, information and advice
  • Assessments,short term case management and care planning
  • Clinicalsupervision, mentoring and modeling of behavior management techniques
  • Tailoredinformation and education workshops
  •  A1800 help line open 24 hours
