Mental Health Carers NT Arafmi is a support service for families and friends of people with a mental illness or disorder.
If you have just discovered that a family member or friend has a mental illness/disorder. You are probably feeling a little shocked, confused and afraid, not knowing what to expect or how best to help that person you care about. Remember that you are not alone! MHC NT can helper by offering support, education and advocacy.

The Mental Health Association of Central Australia is a non-profit community-based organisation that offers:
- Individualpsycho social support that is recovery-oriented
- A drop-incentre, weekly activities and peer support program
- Short-termcare around relapse to minimise hospitalisation

- Education &trainingin mental health first aid and suicide intervention
- Independent living support that is safe, affordable, long-termand secure
- Mental health promotion to raise community awareness and helpreduce stigma

Team Health Central Australia Respite Program
The program provides options for people caring for a person with a mental illness. The program provides flexible options including: In home respite, overnight stays, week or longer activities.
To be eligible, people must have a carer. Service area includes the Top End and Central Australia. Referrals are accepted from any source. Care recipients must have a diagnosed Mental Illness.
